Dual Wielding

Should classes that can duel wield gain an attack? Or should it be something else?
I was thinking for assassins, instead of giving an extra attack, to give them another 0.5x more backstab damage. I.E. if they have 3x/4x backstab damage, it would become 3.5x to 4.5x. It should be about the same as an extra attack, but it prevents the assassin bonus of them being able to rehide after two backstabs. I thought this gave them a too OP advantage, but maybe I am wrong and it should not be like that.
Ninjas should get the +1 attack, since they are meant to be speedy monsters.
If eveyrone thinks it should just be a +1 on dual wielders I will leave it like that.
