I tried to reply to old post about global chat but sinice topic was different it spun into something wild

So the basic idea is for a global chat, so it's not like a shout but chat channel so people who are online can talk with each other.

Channel would have filtering for foul language and abuse controls etc. Even if limited to 10 messages a day?

I'd like to point out we have the Discord server. It can be used as a global chat, and even as a global voice chat for the lazy bastards among us who don't want to type.

and for those who don't want to hear drunken/stoned idiots or don't want to d/l discord entirely? sites like that are among the least secure on planet earth.

Join a guild.

Also you can use discord via a website, no download required.

edit: but yeah I left the discord channel too, it's too outta control. unfortunately I expect a global chat would end up exactly the same.

You say that like a global chat channel wouldn't end up exactly the same way. It's exactly the same people, you're just removing the ability to mute them so you never have to see/hear them.

We had global chat for one day and I removed it because people abused the crap out of it.

Maybe I'll integrate discord into the client so people can join channels and shit like that but it won't be a thing for a little while. End game content is next after a couple little things.
