I am upgrading to Framework 4.5.2, you will need it if you don't have it already. Windows 10 already should have this, but otherwise you will need it.

Eventually it will be part of the installer when I make a new launcher, but for now you'll have to deal manually. This is because we are going a more secure route and Framework 3.5 lacks alot of security that I need to fix some holes.

Also be warned, your accounts.dat file and maps will be void next update. The hash isn't what I was hoping for, and it can change, which isn't good. I will be using some more static variables that won't be wiped so often. 8)

THERE IS A HIGH CHANCE YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET A CONNECTION NEXT UPDATE TO REALIZE YOU NEED TO UPDATE. RUN THE AUTOUPDATER.EXE MANUALLY IF YOU CANNOT CONNECT.

Im using xp, 4,5 is not supported from what i read. is there anything i can do, or just have to start backuping and install 7?

Sorry, this is most likely true. I don't know of any way around this but you can try googling. I doubt there is much you can do about it. For the sake of the security of the game, I have to go through with this anyways. Ry showed how easy it currently is to mess around and this needs to be resolved as best as I can to detour people from doing it.

I tried and you can install 4.5.2 framework on XP but it requires some special tweaking (or twerking) and I don't recommend it. By doing this, I broke several other programs that were working fine. Digging into it, XP just doesn't have the base for some functions that 4.5 requires. NiteHawk could alter his code to default to 4.0 if 4.5 isn't installed but that would totally defeat the purpose of the security upgrade. If you had installed Windows 7 a few weeks ago you could have Windows 10 now... but that's the price you pay for refusing to conform to Microsoft's world.

Oh, and don't feel too bad. I have to remove one of my HDD out of this computer and upgrade my wife's machine tonight. She is still using XP. Her computer came with 7 but she made me downgrade it. Might as well give her a larger HD while I'm upgrading her. You won't be the only one doing some last minute upgrading.

No, I can\t default to 4.0 because the security is using a measure that was complete in 4.5. If I were to say 4.0 was okay, it would simply error when you try to connect because the function wouldn't exist, thus you'd just have a broken client.

Windows 7 and up should work fine though.
