Is there a way we can get a clearer indication of when buffs/debuffs are active and when they run out?
This is particularly an issue for mages who rely heavily on stoneskin being active to stay alive, and i imagine it might be important for clerics, druids, bards, who all rely on their own buffs.
Similarly it'd be useful to have a clearer indication of when a debuff is active on you.
I know this may be related to the new client development, but as a short term fix we could potentially make the buff/debuff notifications in red text?
Notification of buffs/debuffs
Re: Notification of buffs/debuffs
They are in a pinkish text now.
But yeah new client, already been talked about a bunch

People complained about red, so they are pink now.

People are terrible

Here's a screenshot of how it looks atm:

I personally feel this doesn't stand out enough and honestly leads most times to me (and i know others) not recasting the spells that help keep you alive.
Could we consider changing the text to purple/yellow/red/uppercase/flashing neon lights for spells like stoneskin/aegis/etc.?
And/or introducing some other more prominent indicator of buffs/debuffs

Depends on what colors people want for buffs/debuffs. Red is really used for attacking, so you'd miss it as well if you are getting attacked and it wears off on you. Cyan is obviously a bad color too since its the standard color for alot of things. Flashing isn't a common thing with RTB, it's more to do with the client that supports it. I'm not sure what the deal is there but I do know it involves always updating a portion of the text, though theres more to it cause you can't just keep updating a 10k line buffer. I assume theres more to it involved but maybe in the future.
Re: Notification of buffs/debuffs
Part of this is just personal preference. To me the pink works fine and I don't miss it when it shows up. The ultimate solution is new client stuff with some sort of spiral timer or bar or however NH wants to do it.
In the meantime I think the only answer to make everyone happy is allow the setting to be changed by the user, not sure how viable that is to code though.

Re: Notification of buffs/debuffs
Yellow? Purple?
Yellow bold text?
*****YELLOW BOLD ITALIC UNDERLINED UPPERCASE TEXT WITH LOTS OF ASTERIXES BEFORE AND AFTER???******
Edit:
This is a genuine issue for me, I'm tempted to quit playing my Necro because of it and to a lesser extent it's affecting Aegis on my Priest too.
I know it won't be much use in combat if i can't keep SS consistently up
This might be due to partial colour blindness making me miss the pink/blue contrast, or it might be due to the fast scrolling text, maybe a combination.
(for reference colour blindness affects 5% of the population in the UK, so it's not just me being an isolated whiny bitch)
Either way it's extremely frustrating and makes me like the game less.
For reference in the quick 25 minutes i could spend levelling my necro tonight i've missed SS wearing off about 70% of the time and proceeded to nearly die, use a lot more pots, and just generally get pissy at the game

Re: Notification of buffs/debuffs
This is probably something more possible when new client is released
