On gear atm we have the chance at a humming gear. What I'm suggesting is a small chance to generate a random affix to gear. (10% chance? Then a random % chance of the affix selected) Affixes would be random and depend on what kind of equipment it is. I.E Weapons/Shield/Armor/Helmet.
Examples of Affixes (When I say tick, I mean when your idle and the time it takes to regen hp)
Weapons
1-5% Life Steal (At max 5% 100dmg would restore 5hp, BS of 600 would restore 30hp.)
1-5% Mana Drain (At max 10% 100dmg would deplete targets mana by 5. BS of 600 would deplete 30mana)
1-5% to proc on hit Stamina Drain ( % chance to deplete 1 stamina on target)
1-3% to proc on hit Paralyze (Around 10seconds)
1-10% to proc on hit Poison (10-25dmg per tick, immune for certain races.
1-2% to proc on hit Haste ( Chance to proc haste on hit)
5-20% to proc on spell cast Mana Depletion ( At max 20%, you have a 20% when casting any spell to use 25% less mana on that particular spellcast)
Armor
1-5% Thorns (Max 5% Incomeing physical dmg of 100 would deal 5dmg to the attacker.)
1-2% to proc when hit by hostile spell Reflect (Max 2% on hit with a spell to reflect a hostile spell back at the caster)
1-10 Health Regen (Regenerate an additional (Min1) (Max10) per tick)
1-5 Mana Regen (Regenerates (Min1) (Max5) per tick)
1-2% Physical Immunity (Max 2% would reduce a physical attack of 100dmg to 98dmg)
1-2% Magic Immunity (Max 2% would reduce a spells attack of 100dmg to 98dmg)
Weapon/Armor examples just to give an idea.
Think this would give more diversity to equipment. Would also add value on lesser used gear and more of a reason to un soulbind gear to save. Would spark up the economy with trade/sell and motivate players to grind the same gear more for a a chance at a different affix or the same affix but with a higher %chance. Obviously a +1 Haka with a 2%physical immunity would be extremely rare. Maby that regular Shark Fin with a 1% Physical Immunity would trade for a +1 Haka? (Obviously Haka's have a % chance to generate affixes also but as a OAD and only a 10% on drop to generate a RANDOM affix with a RANDOM %value , how likely is it you'll actually see one?)
Thoughts, replies? Keeping the % on proc and numbers low so it wouldnt offset the balance to much but would add diversity to equipment and also game play. Maby this is to far off from RoK gameplay, just throwing a fresh idea out to move forward a little.

Re: Random Affixes
Way OP lol, but with lesser numbers could maybe be a longterm idea to think about. Short term throws off balance imo.

Re: Random Affixes
Maby max 5% proc on hit for most, means 1/20 hits that land. In a 1v1 How many attacks be4 you actually land a solid 20 hits? But yea, lower the procs and the % value, like to see some diversity and some more rng.
Re: Random Affixes
I like a lot about this idea, I'm just not sure how it'd work on several levels, mainly balance wise.
Introducing paralysis into PVP would have huge consequences. The other effects aren't as OP but would still have significant effects.
It would give more reason to repeat OADs but could also lead to some frustration.
For example it's already really frustrating aiming for a purple oad which has a 12.5% drop rate, over 4-5 months we've only seen 2? Devil's horns in game and 3? Mana Scourges.
At one point we ran both OADs approx 20 times in a month and never had a purple drop, and that was with 12.5% drop rate.
If you also compare how infrequently humming OAD items drop at the moment, again you could end up very frustrated if you were aiming for one of those.
If you were desperately hoping for that 1% physical immunity hakama you could easily spend 3-4 months trying every day without success for one
I'm just not sure how the numbers would work in regards to balancing this for combat and getting the drop rate right.

Re: Random Affixes
I agree with the points folder and eld made - still, i think this is worth exploring.
Regarding the OP values, that is a balancing act, im not touching that.
Regarding drop rates, how about if this is default in all OADs? The only thing changing is the actual effect? It would add diversity and tactical choice...

Getting a Diablo vibe from this (the game that is).

Re: Random Affixes
If this was to happen then I'd suggest an ember with x percent based just like the upgrades
