/party Health Colors

Postby Metzger » Sun Jan 08, 2017 9:13 pm

Hello!

So, healing in parties can be stressful when damage is flying off the charts against your party members. If you don't get a heal off ASAP, then there is a good chance someone could die. Duh, right?

Currently, when healing for a damage intensive fight, I rely heavily on the color scheme in /party on deciding who I need to heal first. /party currently has three colors to indicate how much HP a player has lost: Cyan(Healthy) >> Yellow(Moderate) >> Orange(Severe).

My suggestion is to use the same color scheme in /party, that mobs have when taking damage: Cyan(Healthy) >> Green(Slightly) >> Moderate(Bright Green) >> Severe(Orange) >> Critical(Red).

This would help me in couple ways:
1.) With the current /party color scheme, I easily overlook a heal opportunity when someone is still "Healthy". AKA, they have enough HP to have Cyan colored health, but at the same time, enough lost HP that I could still cast a lower level heal spell with efficiency. Instead, if this was a Green colored text, I wouldn't overlook it so easily.

2.) I would have a much easier time with choosing who to heal at a glance. Someone with Severe(Orange) colored health, would likely get a prioritized heal over someone with Green(Slightly) colored health, which, in my opinion, is typically a good choice.

I could come up with a couple other reasons it would help, but I think my point is made. :D

Thoughts?

I'd like to suggest something even better.

When in a party names changes to cyan correct?

So let's say that base for Healthy, as the party member begins to take damage, have their name next to their portrait change colors as their health declines.

Cyan - Healthy
Bright Green - Moderate
Orange - Severe
Red - Critical

This would make it super obvious and easier for the healer to see who's taking damage, instead of having to use a command to see.

Rick added - You could even add their health below their name 1000/1000

Alternate idea instead of names changing color, add a small health bar under their name that shows how much health each person has.

Note- ALL OF THIS WOULD ONLY HAPPEN IF IN A PARTY!

This sounds nice, especially until we get the new client and party health bars.

Love it. What about a Option 2 / Option 3 combo though? Where the HP text amounts are centered within the health bars.

Not sure any of this happens before new client, but #2 looks nice to me. I'd say keep their names the same colors though and change the 1000/1000 bit to different colors, maybe.]

edit: or what Tomb said.

I'd like to see a mix between 2 and 3 myself. I like the bar and I like hard numbers.

Looks nice. Good work!
I also would also like a mix of option 2 and 3.

The idea of merging the second and third one sounds lovely. It would make my sacred duties as a priestess so much easier to bear.

Good idea. Probably won't happen though. New client, etc.
